A Postmortem of Hands On! Pattern Blocks by Island Officials
In the time since the release of Hands On! Tangrams, the team at Island Officials has been pouring all of their passion into a worthy successor. After persevering through equal parts triumph and tribulations, their efforts have concluded with the completion of Hands On! Pattern Blocks for Nintendo DS. Now they would like to share the story of their journey with you, as well as introduce you to a little robot named Orion.
In this presentation, CEO and executive producer Ryan Morrison and creative director and COO Ryan Harbinson, along with Lead Designer Adrian Sandoval and Art Director Karen McKenna, will summarize the development of Hands On! Pattern Blocks. They’ll discuss applying the lessons learned from previous projects, what worked, what didn’t, and many other insights on their sophomore Nintendo DS title.
Is RSVP Required?
No, but RSVPing ahead of time will make your sign in process at the event easier. Instead of writing all of your information down on a sign-in sheet, we’ll check you off the RSVP list and you’ll be done! If you want to come but aren’t sure, RSVP regardless and you’ll be set even if you need to make a last minute decision! YOU DO NOT NEED TO BRING A PAPER TICKET TO THE MEETING.
Note: RSVP will close noon the day of the event to allow us to print the check-in list prior to heading on site for event set up. If you missed the RSVP online period, you can still attend the event. Just show up and sign in on location!
Who can attend?
Anyone! IGDA Philadelphia meetings are usually open to anyone in the area who is working on game development, interested in game development, or simply curious about game development.
In the case of an event that has a restriction on attendees, it will be noted as such in the event details.
If you have any questions, please reach out to chapter leadership by contacting philly[at]igda[dot]org. We look forward to seeing you!
